Eastleigh RFC                                Club News                                       3 July 2008

1. Fitness training for the 2008/09 season is well and truely under way on every Wednesday night at the Clubhouse from 7pm. All senior players are urged to attend now, not leave it until the day before the season starts !! New players welcome, just get them to turn up on any Wednesday during July.

2. The 2008/09 fixtures for both the First and Second XV are now available on the Club website under the Senior Page. Additions and changes will take place during the summer. Fixtures for the Third XV are still being finalised, and will appear on the website a.s.a.p.

3. During the next couple of weeks I shall be writing direct to all 2007/08 Annual Vice Presidents advising them that membership for 2008/09 is now due. I would also like any Life Vice President who has changed his address or other personal details to please let me know.

4. Lastly, the Club would like to record its sadness at the sudden death of Pete Corlett of Ellingham & Ringwood RFC during the recent beach rugby tournament on the I.O.W. at which ERFC entered a team. The death was not rugby related and our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Eastleigh RFC                           Club News                                             10 June 2008

1. Senior summer fitness training has already started at the Clubhouse on Wednesdays at 7pm. No good getting down to serious coaching if you're not fit. New players welcome, just get them to turn up on the night.

2. For those of you who  subscribe to Rugby World Magazine turn to pages 22 and 115 of the July 2008 issue just published. Eastleigh RFC were one of the runners up for the 'Team of the Year' competition run by the Magazine. Quite a feat considering the very strong competition for this sort-after award.

3. No real changes on the Committee front after the recent AGM, so the same old farts continue to manage the Club in order that members can enjoy playing or supporting the game of rugby. Talking of support, let's have plenty of touch line support next season, both Home and Away. League Fixtures have already been emailed to you, or you can remind yourself from the web site  www.eastleighrfc.co.uk

4. Lastly, don't forget that our Clubhouse can be hired out during the day or evening for meetings or parties. Reduced hire rates for Club members of course. We have excellent facilities for day time hire for local businesses, so spread the word. If you know of anyone, or business, that may be interested let me have their name and address and I send them a hire leaflet detailing rates and facilities available. [ or email me direct ]

Cheers

Hampshire Division Two Champions

Winning our last League game at home on 12 April by beating Aldershot & Fleet 24 -5 sealed the Championship Title to add to our Hampshire Plate winners title. A great finish to a long and hard season for the First Team squad, captained by Dave Craddock. Well done lads one and all.
